Singer-songwriter Sharnar releases new single 'Thank You'
Fresh new talent on the local music scene, independent New Zealand singer-songwriter Sharnar releases her second single ‘Thank You’.
After first being discovered at the age of 15, the Irish / Samoan siren has been quietly honing and nurturing her talents, infusing her song-writing with heartfelt lyrics, smokey vocals and soulful grooves that reflect the deep musical influences from her childhood.
After working with several different producers and co-writers, Sharnar struck up a fruitful working relation with M Basa. Their chemistry was immediate, and with producer Will Henderson being the final ingredient in the mix, Sharnar’s debut single ‘Alive’ was released earlier this year in March. ‘Alive’ reached #1 in Spotify’s NZ Viral Top 50, and has since accrued over 38,000 plays on Spotify.
For the new single ‘Thank You’, Sharnar has collaborated with Auckland hip hop royalty KINGS, bringing his freshly innovative style and influences to the table. “I was working with KINGS on another project and he then sent me some ideas for something else he had been working on to see what I could do with it, and here is Thank You”, says Sharnar.
Years of writing poetry and songs have produced a catalogue of work that has been patiently waiting to find its voice – a beautiful and powerful voice that Sharnar is about to show the world now that her journey has truly started. The future looks bright for this emerging and talented young artist, watch this space!
