Galantis announce new album 'The Aviary'
The Grammy-nominated production team Galantis are showing no signs of slowing down in 2017. After releasing the brilliant official music video for ‘Hunter’ just two weeks ago, the duo has announced their much-anticipated second album – The Aviary – out September 15th.
‘Hunter’ achieved the duo’s highest streaming debut to date, with over 1.2 million domestic streams in its first week. The track has since tallied over 50 million streams, with the official music video racking up over 1.2 million views since its release.
To accompany the album announce Galantis have also released a new track off the forthcoming LP – ‘True Feeling.’ The song opens with a slow-burn vibe driven by tropical synths, before exploding with Galantis’ characteristically undeniable beat. Sealed with an ethereal topline vocal, the breezy track is destined for summer playlists worldwide.
The announcement of The Aviary was teased this week alongside a global reveal of the album artwork, hosted in partnership with internationally acclaimed street art Instagram @StreetArtGlobe. Commissioned from StreetArtGlobe's vast network, 12 artists in 8 different countries unveiled their original renderings of the album’s artwork in real time – “tagging” cityscapes around the world from Auckland to Paris to London and Los Angeles. The artists included New Zealand’s Charles Williams & Janine Williams, who brought their own unique vision to Galantis’ iconic Seafox for “The Aviary.”
Galantis is the collaborative production duo of Christian Karlsson (aka Bloodshy, one-third of Miike Snow) and Linus Eklöw (aka Style of Eye). Their debut album, Pharmacy reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance album chart on the strength of hit singles ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ and ‘Runaway (U & I)’. More recently, ‘No Money’ became their biggest song to date – garnering 600 million streams globally, 288 million YouTube views, and reaching the Top 10 on iTunes in 43 countries. Collectively, the duo has amassed over 1 billion streams worldwide.
