Taberah set to release new EP 'Welcome To The Crypt'
Tasmania’s premiere metal export, Taberah will release their new EP, Welcome To The Crypt on Friday, June 10.
The follow to their most recent release, 2013’s full length, Necromancer, Welcome To The Crypt is a six song monster of an EP featuring a re-record of crowd favourite Requiem Of The Damned and new track Battle For The Sun featuring guest performances from some of Australia’s top metal musicians, Lord Tim and Mark Furtner of Lord, Joe Haley of Psycroptic, David Van Pelt of Divine Ascension, Stu Marshall of Death Dealer and Brendan Farrugia of Envenomed.
Lead track Crypt features duelling lead vocals from Myles Flood and Jono Barwick who play the parts of two brothers, once feuding who decided to put aside their differences, band together and rule the world! So metal!
Taberah will be hitting the road June through August in support of the EP. One of the countries better hard rock success stories, Taberah have steadily built a solid career since forming in 2004.
Taking influence from the traditional models of Maiden and Sabbath, mixing it with the rock n roll swagger of AC/DC & Thin Lizzy and drapping it in a velvet coat of Queen and The Darkness, Taberah’s appeal is timeless and infectious.
The band can play with bands of any rock genre and as a result have expanded their audiences beyond the metal scene around the country.
Taberah have released two full length albums, their debut, The Light Of Which I Dream in 2011 and it’s follow up 2013’s Necromancer both making international waves and the latter was voted Album Of The Year by Triple M’s Distortion program. Necromancer also peaked at #12 on the Import Charts via Japan’s Burrn Magazine.
Taberah have opened for a long list of International artists including Blind Guardian, Ace Frehley, Paul Dianno, Tim Ripper Owens, Hammerfall and more and were handpicked by Lemmy himself to open for the legendary Motorhead on the Sydney leg of their 2011 Australian tour! Their most recent international support was with Finland’s symphonic maestro’s Nightwish on their national Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour in January 2016.
Live, Taberah deliver a show that is full of energy, over the top fun, theatrics and plenty of crowd interaction. Earning the quartet a solid reputation for being one of Australia’s “must see” live bands.
