Nick Murphy shares new single 'Stop Me (Stop You)'
Nick Murphy just premiered the first single from his forthcoming album, which is the second track released after losing his ‘Chet Faker’ moniker.
'Stop Me (Stop You)' is an 8-minute anthem that will feature on Murphy’s forthcoming album. 'Stop Me (Stop You)' was co-produced by Dave Harrington and premiered yesterday on triple j and Pitchfork.
"’Stop Me (Stop You)’ is essentially two inseparable songs. Ying and yang of past and present,” says Murphy.
The Melbourne-born, New York-based producer and musician formerly known as Chet Faker will write, produce, record and perform under his given name, Nick Murphy. As intimated on his Facebook page recently, the name change symbolises a musical evolution. Shortly after announcing his name change, Murphy released 'Fear Less', an electrifying mix of past and new influences.
Murphy's dynamic show pulls from his existing catalogue and new music. He is set to bring the show to stages across the globe including sold out shows in New York, Los Angeles and London and a headline slot at Laneway Festival 2017's dates in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand – playing Auckland Laneway on January 30.
