Alae share new video 'Stone Cold'

Showing that the success of previous single ‘Too Strung Up’ was no flash in the pan, Alae are continuing to stir a buzz with international audiences after the impressive debut of ‘Stone Cold’, their latest single which was released on Friday 13 April. The single premiered through tastemaker US site Atwood Magazine, and went on to strongly debut through Spotify’s prestigious New Music Friday playlist in NZ, Australia and the USA. Apple Music also declared Stone Cold one of the best tracks of the week. Momentum continues to grow for Stone Cold across both platforms as the single is continuously added to playlists, further engaging fans from all corners of the globe.
Showcasing the emotional rollercoaster that can underpin any relationship, love is literally the drug in the accompanying music video for Stone Cold, shot on location in Napier and directed by Connor Pritchard, whose previous work has included the visuals for local artists Baynk, SWIDT and the Black Seeds. The video was made with the support of NZ On Air.
Alae have spent the last three months over the Summer break recording their debut album with co-producer Jol Mullholland at Auckland’s LAB Studios, thanks to a NZ on Air New Music Project grant. “The release of our debut albums is something we have been working towards since we started two years ago,” says Alex Farrell-Davey - vocalist, “we can’t wait to get it out into the world and share with our fans this June.”
