Whitney Houston was pronounced dead yesterday in her Beverly Hills hotel room at the age of 48.  

Her body is still in the hotel room and detectives are investigating her cause of death, but it is thought drugs were involved.  

Houston released her debut self-titled album in 1985 which featured the hits ‘Saving All My Love For You', ‘How Will I Know' and ‘The Greatest Love Of All'.

Whitney Houston's Australasian promoter 'Andrew McManus' is to take legal action against the New Plymouth District Council.  McManus told the Taranaki Daily News "At this point in time there will be no comment due to pending legal action. We are preparing our case and that is all I can say at this stage."

Whitney Houston has cancelled her one off New Plymouth show which was set for March 6th.  

Apparently a dispute had arisen between promoter Andrew McManus and the New Plymouth concert venue 'Bowl of Brooklands'.  A press release read "Whitney (Houston) and Andrew McManus are extremely sorry to have to disappoint all of Whitney's many New Zealand fans on this occasion."

Whitney Houston has been confirmed to play New Plymouth's 'Bowl of Brooklands' on March 6th as part of her 'Nothing But Love' Tour.  Like Fleetwood Mac last month, New Plymouth will be Houston's only New Zealand stop.  Tickets sold out in minutes for Fleetwood Mac, prompting a second concert at the venue to be booked.  It's been said that this will not happen with Houston's concert.
