Ex-Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr has been found dead at the age of 44.  

Police told TMZ that Starr's body was found earlier today in Salt Lake City.  No other details have been made available as this time.  

Just last month Starr was arrested and jailed after he was found with the drugs Xanax and Opana. He had six pills of each.

Ex-Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr has been jailed in Utah after being found with pills which he didn't have a prescription for.  

Starr was arrested on February 17th and has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.  His bail has been set at $20,000 (US).  

The bassist was found with the drugs Xanax and Opana. He had six pills of each.
