With a sold-out Australian tour with Theia in support of his recent single ‘Selfish’ behind him and an upcoming appearance at Splendour In The Grass, ARIA nominated artist The Kite String Tangle shares his new single ‘The Prize’ featuring Bridgette Amofah (Rudimental).
The track is accompanied by the news that the Brisbane based producer, Danny Harley, will release his highly anticipated self-titled debut album on July 14th. Written, performed and self-produced, the album is mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer Eric J Dubowsky (Flume, SAFIA).
The Kite String Tangle album was produced over a three-year period and saw the bedroom producer move his recording process into a studio with live drums, strings, horns and more. With features that include elusive Gold Coast artist and I OH YOU signee Montgomery, The Kite String Tangle describes his debut as “a process of discovery. It really was a long road to get this thing to where it needed to be in my head and I learnt a great deal about my songwriting and production, but more poignantly, about myself and those around me.”
The triple threat producer, vocalist and songwriter made waves with his single ‘Given The Chance’, a track that reached Gold status in Australia. Alongside sold-out national headline shows, celebrated festival appearances including Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival and Groovin the Moo, The Kite String Tangle landed in the Top 20 of both the 2013 & 2014 triple j Hottest 100’s. His West Coast support slot on the RUFUS tour followed on from a series of sold out shows on his co-headline tour with Dustin Tebbutt to celebrate their collaborative Illuminate EP.
The Kite String Tangle will head to New Zealand for a one off show with Odesza on their ‘A Moment Apart Tour’ at the Auckland Town Hall on Thursday 14 September.
