Craig Robinson is best known to New Zealand audiences through his numerous and highly regarded comedy appearances and comedic acting roles in film and television over several years. This is his eagerly awaited first New Zealand and Australian tour and he will be bringing his amazing seven piece band The Nasty Delicious with him.
Best known for his role as Darryl Philbin in the Emmy Award winning USA version of The Office (now in it's 9th season), Craig has also appeared in hilarious films such as Hot Tub Machine produced by and co-starring John Cusack, This Is The End, co-starring with Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen (who also produced and directed), Pineapple Express alongside Seth Rogen and James Franco, and Zack and Miri Make a Porno with Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. Craig has also provided voice-overs in the animated feature movies Escape From The Planet Earth and the final film in the Shrek franchise, Shrek Forever After. Craig's additional film credits include The Goods with Jeremy Piven, Miss March, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girl. Later this year, Craig will star in a lead role in a new comedy We The Peeples, produced by Tyler Perry. Television appearances include The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, Friends, The Bernie Mac Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
As a stand-up comedian, Chicago born Craig first made his mark in the comedy circuit at the 1998 Montreal Just For Laughs festival. He soon went on to perform his act on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and Real Time with Bill Maher. Now headlining venues and festivals across the US, he does both solo acts as well as full band sets, tying together his lyrical comedy with his accomplished skills at the keyboard. Whether Craig shows up with just his keyboard or with his seven-man band, the clubs are packed to the brim with Craig receiving raucous laughter in response to his musical comedy genius.
This first Australasian tour will showcase Craig Robinson's unique comedy and musical talents with his band The Nasty Delicious. Formed in 2007, The Nasty Delicious have been rocking stages with Craig Robinson around the globe with their powerful fusion of electric funk, latin jazz, hard rock and soul.
