The Black Keys settle lawsuit with Pizza Hut

30 November - NEWS

The Black Keys have settled their lawsuit with companies Pizza Hut and Home Depot.

The duo were suing the companies for using songs from their most recent album 'El Camino' without getting prior permission.  The band said that Pizza Hut used "significant portions" of their song 'Gold On The Ceiling' to advertise Cheesy Bites Pizza, while Home Depot used the track 'Lonely Boy' for advertising power tools.

BBC News are reporting that both claims have now been settled out of court.  Lawyers for the band told a Los Angeles federal judge on Monday November 26th that a settlement had been reached, while the Home Depot agreement was made earlier this month.  Neither company has commented on the settlement.
