System Of A Down To Play One Auckland Show

Small

The newly reformed System Of A Down are returning to New Zealand where they will play one show in February.

Rumours that the band would be performing in New Zealand have been running rampant for the last couple of months as System Of A Down are headliners as part of the Australian Soundwave Festival.  Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah commented back in October that the SOAD would play a New Zealand show providing they could find a venue.

System Of A Down last performed in New Zealand in 2005 at the Big Day Out.  Frontman Serj Tankian is a New Zealand resident and in 2010 released his live recording 'Elect The Dead Symphony' which was recorded at the Auckland Town Hall with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra.

Concerning the New Zealand show Tankian commented "New Zealand feels like home to me, and while my work takes me many places I always love returning. I'm super-excited to be back home in Auckland again, this time with System."
