Tributes Pour In For Mike Starr
Alice in Chains members Sean Kinney and Jerry Cantrell have paid tribute to their former band mate and bassist Mike Starr who was found dead on Tuesday in Salt Lake City Utah.
The two released a statement which read "Jerry and Sean are mourning the loss of their friend and ask that the media respect their privacy - and the privacy of Mike's family - during this difficult time," Cantrell and Kinney said in a statement. "Their thoughts & prayers are with the Starr family."
Many others from the music world have also commented on the passing of Starr via the social networking site Twitter.
Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steve Adler: "R.I.P. Mike Starr!! Such a sad day!"
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx: "RIP Mike Starr. Another fallen Soldier to addiction."
Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton: "Horrible news. RIP Mike Starr."
Former Avenged Sevenfold drummer Mike Portnoy: "RIP Mike Starr... I watched his struggle on Celebrity Rehab and had my fingers crossed for his recovery. This disease kills... sad stuff."
The cause of Starr's death has yet to be confirmed.
