Facebook To Make Bono The Richest Rock Star Around

U2 frontman Bono is set to become the richest rock star on the planet thanks to Facebook. 

The singer owns 1.5% of Facebook shares through his private equity firm Elevation Partners.  It's estimated that when Facebook floats on the stock exchange later this year, Bono's shares will be worth just under $1 billion. 

That means on paper Bono will be worth up to $1.1 billion, $300 million more than the current richest rock star Paul McCartney. 

Bono and Elevation Partners invested $90 million in Facebook back in 2009.
