Conrad Murray Jailed For Four Years

Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, has been jailed for a maximum of four years jail after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in relation to the singer's 2009 death.

Murray will also have to pay compensation to the Jackson family, with the prosecution asking for $100 miliion.  A decision on the amount will be made on January 23rd, 2012.

Members of the Jackson family, including LaToya, Jermaine and Randy, were in court to hear the sentencing .  A statement from the family was read out in court "There's no way to adequately describe the loss of our beloved father, son, brother, and friend... We are not here to seek revenge, there is nothing you can do today to bring Michael back. We respectfully request that you impose a sentence that reminds physicians that they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder and cast aside their Hippocratic oath to do no harm."
